Invitation

We welcome you…

…to our community of faith in Christ. First Presbyterians have been active in Astoria for more than 140 years. Today, we enjoy: a beautiful, historic sanctuary “where past meets present,” and an engaging style of weekend worship with something for young and old alike. We embrace an assortment of voices, instruments, and hymns each week and, we are eager to embrace you, as well.

Worship is uplifting

…and encouraging. The message is faithful to God’s Word, relevant to challenges we face daily, and rooted in the truth of God’s love, in Jesus Christ. ALL ARE WELCOME… especially those who are searching for direction (or purpose), those for whom daily life is a struggle, and those who might find comfort and strength in relationship with others who are also on the journey we call “life.” And, PLEASE come with your questions because this is a “thinking” congregation and because this is a safe place where questions can be aired without judgment and discussed with respect.

Family Friendly

Our family friendly worship time offers a Message for the Young at Heart that seeks to share the Gospel with all ages with the help of one of our puppet family members, Jimbo, Loreta, Rudy or Professor Hiccup. We also offer Sunday School and nursery care.

Open & Affirming

At FPC Astoria, we not only say that we welcome and accept all others, we also actively live that out. As an open and affirming church family, we are proud members of the Covenant Network or Presbyterians (https://covnetpres.org) and welcome any and all who are called to worship God.

Our exquisite sanctuary,

with its unique stained glass windows and majestic pipe organ, was built in 1903. The Nave and Fellowship Hall make lovely venues for weddings and a variety of events. And… we are home to the Astoria Conservatory of Music, as well as the Clatsop Emergency Food Bank.

God bless you until we see you, and may our loving Parent grant you all the grace you need,
